film2home launched their first Video on Demand service in Sweden in 2001. Today are they represented in Sweden, Norway and Finland . film2home is owned and run by Bonver; Scandinavia’s leading distributer of home entertainment products. For more than 20 years Bonver has worked with all Swedish and International film studios with an aim to have the largest catalogue of old and new releases from all major film rights holders.

Aim
film2home used the user interface templates provided by the MPS Video Services for many years. Their services were (and are still) available in the online stores of Windows Media Players 9 and 10 as well as in the Windows Media Center Edition online spotlight offering using MPS templates. When film2home wanted to extend their web presence they decided to take control of the storefront and manage development in-house.

Solution
In the summer of 2007 the new film2home web site was released. The site is designed and built by film2home´s in–house development team using the Client Frame Work SDK made available by MPS. Through the development process software engineers from MPS has provided full development support.

Results
The film2home storefronts built on MPS templates are still available but the main web storefront is maintained, controlled and enhanced by film2home. The service offers more than 1000 feature films on rental and Download To Own (DTO) basis. The controlled download to own process is handled by an application called MyContent Manager, developed by MPS. MyContent Manager handles both the download process and the local video catalogue on the end user´s computer. Titles from studios like Warner Brothers, Universal Pictures and Buena Vista can be streamed for on demand viewing or downloaded with copy protection based on Microsoft Digital Rights Management (DRM).
